Arden “Corky” Stephan Bork

84, of Indianapolis, and formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away on May 10, 2019. He was born on July 18, 1934 in South Bend to the late Adolph and Hilda (Stephan) Bork. He was a graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School, Class of 1952.  Following High School, he served a tool and die apprenticeship, beginning a long career in a field he loved. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962.

Arden retired from a sales career in the Machine Tool and Die industry in 2003. He was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church, where he faithfully served on Church Council and various committees over the years.  He was an Eagle Scout. In addition to faith and family, he loved wood working, fishing, and Notre Dame Football, fondly recalling the days in his late teens when he had the privilege of serving as an usher at the team’s home games.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Susan; son, Tom (Pam); daughter, Becki; sister, Carolyn (Jim) Schwinkendorf; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Dick) Rolen and Carolyn Ishman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2201 E. 106th St. Carmel, IN 46032 with visitation starting at 10:30 A.M.
