Catherine Lois Tap Baker (Minegar)

Catherine "Tap" L. (Baker) Minegar

June 30, 1924 ~ November 15, 2020 (age 96)

Catherine Lois “Tap” Minegar, age 96 of Osceola, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 15, 2020 after a brief illness.  Tap was born June 30, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Roland E. and Helen (Goebel) Baker.  On January 13, 1945, she married Harry “Bud” Minegar at the Broadway Church in South Bend.  Bud preceded her in death, passing away in 2001.

She is survived by her children Gregg (Stacy) Minegar and Patti (Bob) Hayden, both of Osceola and seven grandchildren; Andrew (Sarah) Minegar, Abigail Minegar, Adam Minegar, Alison Minegar, Sarah (Curt) Baumgartner, Heather (Dave) Franklin, and Jessica (Charlie) Wells.  Surviving as well are five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Joan Cunningham and Mary Haslett.

Graveside services will be held privately, and Tap will be laid to rest next to her husband of 56 years in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.

Catherine was employed as a secretary throughout the area for many years.  She retired at the age of 80 from the SouthGate Church in South Bend where she not only served as their full-time secretary but was also a long-time member who enjoyed singing in the choir.

She was a dedicated Christian who was never afraid to share her faith with others. One of her fondest memories was the time she was able to travel through Israel with her husband Bud.

She was a very social person and loved spending time with her family and many friends.  One of her favorite things to do was to take long rides in the car with her daughter Patti. Tap was also a loving grandmother who was always present to show her support for all seven of her grandchildren’s activities at Penn High School.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Heart to Heart Hospice who took such great care of her during her time of need.
