Dealio "Rick" Dainelli

August 20, 1953 ~ November 4, 2021 (age 68)

Dealio “Rick” Dainelli, 68, passed away on November 4, 2021 in his home unexpectedly.

Rick was born on August 20, 1953 in South Bend to Dante and Virginia (Misener) Dainelli. He was a United States Air Force veteran and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2016 after 28 years of service. He was President of the AFL/CIO, was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and German Club golf league. Rick had plenty of hobbies and interests that varied from coaching his children in baseball/softball, gardening/canning, cooking, grilling/smoking meat, listening to the Cubs in the pool, and playing ping pong with his dueling partner, Annie. 

Rick was a graduate of South Bend Riley High School, class of 1971. He obtained certification in diesel mechanic technology at Lincoln Tech in Fort Worth, TX. 

In 1993, Rick married the former Annie Kroll who survives along with two daughters Angela (Daniel Klipper) Dainelli, Valerie Dainelli, and a son Dominic (Rachel) Dainelli. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt who was like his second mother Dorothy Elkins, and a sister Christine Siroky.

Rick had a resounding laugh and voice that could be heard from far away, and allowed you to recognize that he was in the vicinity before even laying eyes on him. He enjoyed having a chat with any and all. As long as the beer was pouring, the conversation was flowing.  Rick had friends from all walks of life; he truly was the life of the party. This obituary does not do him justice as far as the impression he left on many and the love he had for life.   

Cremation has taken place. A gathering for family and friends will take place from 12-3 on Saturday November 27, 2021 in Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.
