Robert John Auer, Sr.
Robert J. Auer, Sr., 85, residing in South Bend, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 7, 1935 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Ila (Schaffer) Auer.
Robert worked as operations manager for 39 years at United Airlines retiring in 1995. On September 21, 1980 in South Bend he was united in marriage to Nancy Brown who survives. Robert is also survived by his sons, Robert Auer Jr. of Mishawaka, Douglas (Patty) Auer of Hastings, MI., and Todd Auer of Fort Myers, FL. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
No services will be held at this time. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the Auer family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

Caryle Steffee (Merrill) (1954)
I am sorry to learn that Bob has passed away....I too graduated in the Class of '54, haven't seen Bob for about 65+ years, but I have very pleasant memories of him and I know that he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. My best wishes to you all. Caryle Steffee Merrill.
