Jane Elizabeth Stone

SOUTH BEND, IN - Jane Elizabeth Stone (Long), 82, of South Bend died at 9:18a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 in Hospice House of South Bend. Mrs. Stone was born May 1, 1936 in South Bend to the late Lydia Ann (Emery) and Donald E. Long and was a lifetime area resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Stone; and her siblings, Edwin F. Long and Donald E. Long Jr.

On February 8, 1958 in South Bend she married Paul J. Stone, and they enjoyed 57 years together.

Surviving are her sister, Jean A. Kurzhals of Saranac, MI; her daughters, Deborah Blatt of South Bend and Loretta Bradshaw (Steve) of Fallbrook, CA; her son, Paul E. Stone (Sue); and six grandchildren, Matthew, Mariel, and Michael Bradshaw, Rebecca Blatt, Paul C. and Rae Stone; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Stone was a stay at home mother for a major part of her life and as soon as her children were grown, she went to work as a telephone operator with AT&T until she retired in November of 2002.

There will be no services or visitation. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory.
