Carl William Morris (1960)

During the times at Lincoln we would ride bikes to the woods near Miami street to play.  My memories are still fondly kept.

I attended grade school at Center Twp & didn’t become acquainted with Bill until my freshman year. We must have been in the same home room. He & I had rocketry in common. He told me I could buy potassium nitrate at Osco Drugs, no questions asked.  That & sugar was used to make “candy” propellant.  I lived in the country so that’s where we launched our rockets. Most, if not all, eventually exploded, but at least flew up & out of sight before whistling back to earth. Our entire neighborhood knew what was happening, though back then people weren’t paranoid.  Bill & I drifted apart after that year, but we packed a lot of memories into that time.
