Michael D. ‘Mike’ Hoffman, 73, of Lima, died at 8:12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born April 29, 1938, in Logansport, Ind. He is the son of Mildred (Murray) and Robert E. Hoffman. Both parents are deceased. On Oct. 26, 1957 he married Janet R. Whitmer, who survives in Lima.

Mr. Hoffman was a plant manager with International Brake of Lima and also worked in sales with Prudential. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Lima First Assembly of God Church. He was a big Notre Dame fan and loved hunting.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Lynn Hoffman, of Cridersville; three grandchildren, Joseph Keckler, of Columbus, Benjamin Keckler currently stationed in Afghanistan, and Kathryn Keckler, of Cridersville; a brother, Robert E. (Judith) Hoffman, of Lake, Michigan; and a sister Diane (Robert) Miller of South Bend, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dale Hoffman Jr. who died March 22, 1988.
Funeral services will begin 11 a.m., Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, in Cridersville. with the Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Private burial will follow at a later date in St. Matthew Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4p.m., Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and one hour prior to services Friday.

Memorial contributions may be given to the church’s building fund at First Assembly of God, 1575 East High St., Lima, Ohio 45804.
