July 22, 1936 ~ October 15, 2006
ZIMMER, Neil L., 70, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Oct. 15, leaving his wife of 45 years, Barbara Blair Zimmer.
He was the father of Todd (Michelle), Cami (Tinker), Tracey (Jerry), and Grandfather of Jeremy (Amanda), Sara, Tate, Kevin (Maya), Brandi (Tim), Tyler, Ashley, and Great Grandfather of Tyler Lynn, Colt Lane, Zhale, Jathan. Sisters are Norma (Roger) of South Bend, IN, Mary Lou Hartter of Midland, TX, Brother, Larry Zimmer of South Bend, IN.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Christian and Mother Pauline and Stepfather, Orville Baker and many wonderful family members.
He served on the USS FORRESTAL CVA-59 from 1955-1959. He was honored to be one of the men that was selected to commission the ship and he was proud to be a plank owner. He always looked forward to his Navel Reunions.
He founded Zimmer's Equine, Horse Transportation in 1992, which will continue to be operated by his family. He made friends with everyone he met. He will always be remembered for his humor and most of all believing in the best of everyone.
The family expresses sincere Gratitude to the doctors and staff at the VA Hospital, UK Markey Cancer Center, and Hospice of the Bluegrass. We are Grateful for their wonderful support, care and Compassion in our time of need.

Visitation will be Thu, 6-9 p.m. and Fri, 6-9 p.m. at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown, KY. Services will be 10 a.m., Sat, Oct. 21, 2006 with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
