SOUTH BEND — John Robert Walz, of 3615 5 Michigan St . died at in Saturday in Memorial Hospital. He was the owner and general manager of J.E. Walz Inc , Ramada Inn, and Lazy Boy Furniture Showcase. Born March 30, 1923, in South Bend, he had lived in the area all of his life.
On June 10, 1944, to South Bend, he married Eulala "Tiny" G Wallace She survives with two daughters. Julie Rowley and Kelley Crofoot, both of Orlando. Fla , three sons. John Michael of New Port Beach, Calif , James Eric and Thomas Melton, both of South Bend. 15 grandchildren, and three brothers. Wilford, Woodrow and Richard, all of South Bend.
He served on the board for Kiwanis Club, Goodwill Industries, and Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of South Bend lodge 2104 F & AM, Scottie Rite, Avalon Grotto, Orak Temple, South Bend Press Club, South Gate Improvement Association, and the Chamber of Commerce Services will be at 11 a m Monday in Grace United Methodist church. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to p m today to Forest G Hay Funeral Home, 1201 Michigan St.
