Danny Ray Clark, Sr.

SOUTH BEND, IN - Danny Ray Clark, Sr., beloved son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend affectionately known as “Gumby”, who lived 62 years of a wonderful life, entered into eternal rest at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born in South Bend, IN on October 14, 1955 to the union of Roosevelt and Viline (Jones) Clark.

Danny Clark, a native of the Southeast Side of South Bend, was a graduate of Riley High School. After graduation, he moved to Indianapolis where he was employed as an automotive mechanic for the Department of Public Works. Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged.

He was united in marriage to Ms. Trina Barnes in 1975 and to that union two children were born: Ryan A. Clark and Danielle R. Clark-Love.

Danny loved to fish, go bike riding, work on cars, and celebrate with family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Viline and Pastor Charles Flenoy; his daughter, Danielle R. (Tyriee) Clark-Love of Indianapolis; his sons, Ryan (LaKita) Clark of Indianapolis and Danny Ray Clark Jr. of Seattle, WA; nine grandchildren: Terrace Clark, Trinae Love, Joseph Clark, Jr., Andre Clark, Andrea Clark, Jacob Clark, Ryan Clark, Jr., Kimora Clark, and Ri'Annah Clark; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deloris and Valerie Clark, both of South Bend; six brothers: Melvin (Kim) Clark, Jerome (Debbie) Clark, Rickey Clark, and Kenny (Anika) Thompson, all of South Bend, Johnny Wayne Clark and Rodney (Sue) Clark both of Lake Wales, FL.

Danny was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Clark; his father, Roosevelt Sr.; three brothers, Louis Clark, Terry Clark, and Roosevelt Clark Jr.; and a special nephew, Louis Clark, Jr.

He also leaves to mourn his loss a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles, and friends, and a God-Sister, Salina (Dale) Clay.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services for Mr. Danny Ray Clark, Sr. will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church located at 1232 East Bronson Street, South Bend, IN. Visitation at 10:00 AM and Funeral Services at 11:00 AM. Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
