Olney E. "Mac" McIntyre

GRANGER - Olney E. "Mac" McIntyre, 91, of Granger, IN, passed away in his home at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, October 18th. He was born September 20, 1921, in South Bend, to Marguerite (Labadie) and Olney E. McIntyre.

On August 21, 1967, in Roscommon, MI, he married Kay (Ludwig) Bishop, his wife of 45 years who survives. Also surviving are his children, Michael McIntyre (Kathy) of Tasmania, Australia, Terry Reagan of Oneida, WI, and Clinton McIntyre of South Bend; stepchildren, Mark Bishop (Pam) of Parkton, NC, and Carol Thompson of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Brenna Stratton of Australia, Matthew Reagan of Oneida, Andrew Glisinski of Ocoee, FL, Ryan Thompson of Berkley, CA, Stephen Bishop (Ria) of Ft. Belvoir, VA, John Bishop of Pittsburgh, PA, James Bishop of Fayetteville, NC, and Abbie Bishop of Parkton; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Jane Lusk.

Mac graduated from Riley High School in South Bend and from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He worked his entire career with Kimberly-Clark, both in Neenah, WI, and Balfour, NC. He retired in 1983 and moved back to the South Bend area in 1986. Mac enjoyed watching all of the White Sox games with Kay. He loved golf and football, and especially loved raising Collies and Chows--most of all the puppies. Mac received wonderful, loving care from Southern Care Hospice his last two weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22nd, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Committal services and burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call today, October 21st, from 2 until 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
