Gerald "J.D." Lee Davis, 70, of Lakeville, IN passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at his home. He was born on December 16, 1944 in South Bend, IN to the late Vaughn E. and Della K. (Smith) Davis. He was united in marriage on May 1, 1961 in South Bend, IN to Sally Ilene Mikel who preceded him in death on March 7, 2001.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Julianna Beth (Brad) Whiteman of Lakeville, IN; four sons, Douglas Lee Davis of Warsaw, IN, William Glenn (Tina) Davis of Lakeville, IN, Steven Bret Davis of Plymouth, IN and John Brendan Davis of South Bend, IN; seven grandsons and seven granddaughters; six great granddaughters and one great grandson; two sisters, Nancy A. (Gifford) Torbenson of South Bend, IN and Patricia J. (Race) Hickman of Lakeville, IN; one brother, William E. (Deborah) Davis of Plymouth, IN and special niece, Priscilla Jane Price of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ally Marie Davis on November 22, 1994 and an infant brother, William G. Davis.

Jerry was a lifelong area resident. He was the co-founder of Lake City Heat Treating Corporation in Warsaw, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. His son, John B. Davis, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
