Jay Varga, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Born on October 5, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana, Jay's life was filled with dedication to his family and his commitment to work. He was employed with Heat & Frost Insulators Local 75 for 30 years until his retirement in 2007.
Jay is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Varga, daughter, Amy (David) Helmen of South Bend, and his granddaughter, Olivia. He was preceded in death by his son, Brett Carson. Jay also leaves behind his sister, Carol Winkler of Mishawaka.
Per the wishes of the family, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617 or Pet Refuge, 4626 S Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. Palmer Funeral Homes – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
