Robert C. Ridout

SOUTH BEND - Robert C. Ridout, 78, of South Bend, IN, met Jesus at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 15, 1936, in South Bend, IN, to Robert T. and Sally (Clow) Ridout.

Mr. Ridout is survived by two daughters, Roxanna (Frank) Quinn of Dayton, OH, and Randi (Jim) Durham of Centerville, OH; two sons, Robert (Debbie) Ridout of Naples, FL, and Roderick (Diane) Ridout of Dayton, OH; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his significant other, Shirley Flock of South Bend, IN; brother, Craig Ridout of South Bend, IN; and sisters, Glenda Rininger of Plymouth, IN, and Debbie Strasser of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara J. Ridout in 2003; daughter, Robin Ridout; and brother, Daryl Ridout.

Mr. Ridout lived in Jesup, Iowa, with nature, on the river. He stayed in Naples, FL, and in South Bend, IN, where he was well taken care of. He retired after thirty-five years in the grocery business, working for A & P, Kroger and Super Value. He was a member of the American Legion.

He graduated from Riley High School in 1955 and was a member of the Knights. He participated in Drama and Glee Club, and loved to sing Barbershop with his family. There will be no services or visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family. Contributions in memory of Robert C.
