Betty J. (Voorde) Andert
February 1, 1937 ~ September 1, 2023 86 Years Old
Betty J. (Voorde) Andert, 86, of South Bend passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 1, 2023 after battling a lengthy illness.
Betty was born in South Bend on February 1, 1937 to the late Al J. Voorde and Regina E. (Nagel) Voorde. Betty graduated from Riley High School in 1955. She married Robert Andert on May 20, 1961. She worked for Standard Oil Co. before becoming a homemaker where she enjoyed raising her three daughters.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Joseph) Yaciw of South Bend, Lynne Andert of South Bend, and Cheryl Celie of South Bend. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jordan Yaciw, Olivia Yaciw, Faith (Andert) Heck, and Angelo Celie, as well as her brothers Richard (Ann) Voorde of Mishawaka and Robert(Arlene) Voorde of South Bend.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Phyllis (Voorde) Hickey.
Betty was an avid fan of Notre Dame football and basketball. She was also a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal service will be held. A private Celebration of Life in her home and burial of her remains at Highland Cemetery, South Bend will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made in her honor to Center for Hospice.
