Cathryn (Chrisman) Samuel Ganser

Cathryn Ganser, 89, of Syracuse, passed away on May 15, 2023 at her home. She was born on March 22, 1934 in South Bend, IN to Frank & Alberta (Fisher) Chrisman. In 2004 she married Lyman Samuel who survives.

Cathy was a well known and respected realtor in the South Bend/Mishawaka area. She was one of only a handful of female realtors in the commercial real estate market and was considered a pioneer in what was then a male dominated field. A member of the S.B/Mishawaka Association of Realtors, Cathy was also a member of the Roseland Rotary Club and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award.

Cathy was a graduate of Riley High School and attended Northwestern University.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and antiques, but most of all, sunsets on Lake Wawasee and Barefoot Beach, Florida. She was a beloved wife, mother, and mother-figure to those who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband - Lyman Samuel of Syracuse. Sons - Richard Ganser of South Bend, Scott (Karen) Samuel of Lakeville, Gregory Samuel of Ft. Wayne, Christopher (Jan) Samuel of Murphy, NC. 8 Grandchildren - Brad Samuel, Kevin Samuel, Cole Samuel, Noah Samuel, Nicholas Samuel, Kimberly Samuel, Michelle Samuel, and Mikayla Samuel. 3 Greatgreatgrandchildren - Asher Samuel, Frances Samuel, Rei Samuel. She was preceded by her son Christopher Ganser.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Eastlund Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
