SOUTH BEND - David J. Post, 83, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 3:09 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 28, 1934, in South Bend, IN, to the late Jerry and Margaret (Farkas) Post. On October 19, 1957, in South Bend, he was united in marriage to the former Nancy Margaret DeWachter, who preceded him in death on December 11, 2016.

David is survived by his daughter, Patricia “Patti” (Paul) Hyndman of Dallas, TX; son, Michael (Sharon) Post of Brookfield, WI; four grandchildren, Sarah Hyndman, Elaine Hyndman, Matthew Post and Christopher Post; and two brothers, Jerry (Iola) Post of Newberry Park, CA, and Dan (Karen) Post of Cordelane, ID.

David was a lifelong resident. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked in dental sales for Block Drug Company, retiring in 1994 after seventeen years of service. David was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the American Legion.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 225 Haney Avenue, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
