SOUTH BEND - Helen Susan Woodworth, 81, of South Bend, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Woodworth was born November 7, 1931, in Mishawaka, to the late Alice (Raber) and William Finkenbrink, and was a lifetime area resident.
On May 15, 1954, in South Bend, as Helen S. Finkenbrink she married Earl S. Woodworth & spent 59 wonderful years together. Earl survives along with her two daughters, Elaine Tucker (Ron) of Palm Dale, CA, and Diane Woodworth of Fishers, IN; four grandchildren, Kristin Gehring (Mark), Jeff Willy, Jason Willy and Karen Hartung (Holt); and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Woodworth of Corey Lake, Three Rivers, MI.
Helen was a graduate of Riley High School & was a longtime, active member of First Baptist Church in South Bend. She loved flowers and spent many hours working in her garden. Helen & Earl spent many wonderful summer years together at their cottage at Corey Lake, Three Rivers, MI, and wintering in Sarasota, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 24th, in First Baptist Church, 3010 S. Ironwood Dr., South Bend, with Rev. Janell Bloem officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call today, May 23rd, from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N.
