Lorraine D. (Putz) Kope

SOUTH BEND - Lorraine D. Kope, 81, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born on February 13, 1927, to the late Alex and Mary Putz in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents, one brother, Harry Putz of South Bend, IN, also preceded her in death.
Lorraine was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend.
Mrs. Kope was a co-owner, along with her husband, of American Acoustics, where she performed the accounting work for the business.
On July 3, 1948, as Lorraine D. Putz, she married Henry R. Kope at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. She is survived by her loving husband, Henry R. of 60 years; two sons, Gregory D. (Marcia) Kope of Niles, MI, and Jeffrey A. Kope of North Liberty, IN; and one grandson, Jason J. Kope of Niles, MI.
Lorraine was a member of Little Flower Parish, and a lifelong member of the Elks BPOE Lodge No. 235 in South Bend. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM today, July 29, and from one hour prior to services on Wednesday, July 30, both in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 9 AM Wednesday, July 30, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
