Delores Fay (Woodcox) Wilmoski

September 25, 1926 ~ December 6, 2022

Delores Fay Wilmoski, residing in Franklin, IN; formerly of South Bend, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Indiana Masonic Home, Franklin, IN.  She was 96 years old.

Delores was born September 25, 1926 in South Bend, a daughter of the late Jonas & Hilda (Nunemaker) Woodcox, a 1945 graduate of J. W. Riley High School and lived in South Bend all of her life before moving to Franklin, IN in 2013.

On November 14, 1947 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Albert E. Wilmoski.  They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage until his passing on March 14, 2007.

Mrs. Wilmoski retired in 1983 from the South Bend Community School Corp. of which she was employed as Secretary at Jefferson School for many years.  She was a member of South Side Church of God, a longtime member of Zion United Church of Christ, St Peters United Church of Christ and most recently attended Southlawn United Methodist Church before moving to Franklin.  She was a 72year member of the Order of Eastern Star #267, and a member and Past President for Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two sons, Garry A. Wilmoski of Lawrenceburg, IN; and Scott E. Wilmoski (Marge), of Naples, FL, nephew Lloyd Sheaks, Union, MI along with four grandchildren, LTC Conrad Wilmoski (Margaret), Megan Sirois (Derek), Kara Lentz (Daniel) and Todd Wilmoski and eight great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Roma Acton and Opal Buchanan, and a brother Dick Woodcox and grandsons Gregory and Matthew Wilmoski.

The family will receive friends from Noon-2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan St., South Bend where members of the Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 1:45 p.m.

Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Southlawn Cemetery.
