Stephen Grundtner

February 24, 1926 ~ July 1, 2021 (age 95)

Stephen Grundtner, 95, passed from this life at his residence on July 1, 2021. Born February 24, 1926 to Stephen Grundtner and Julia (Bali) Grundtner, Stephen became a life-long resident of South Bend.

Stephen married Nadine Hawkins in Mishawaka in 1946; she passed away in 1994. In 1996, Stephen married Bonnie Banacka who also preceded him in death in 2017. He served his country valiantly as a World War II Veteran. As a long-term employee and engineer with Fox 28, Stephen retired after 60 years of service.

Left with many memories of Stephen are his daughter, Nancy (Kevin) Byrne of Basye, VA, stepson, Robert (Barbara) Grundtner Jr. and four stepdaughters: Janet (Mark) Joachim of North Liberty, IN, JoAnn (Matt) Loughlin of Mishawaka, IN, Julie (Karl) Pruett of South Bend, IN, and Suzanne (John) Carlson of South Bend, IN. Grandchildren include Lily (Kyle) Pascucci-Harrison of Basye, VA and Philip (Erika) Pascucci of Manahawkin, NJ. Great-grandchildren are Collin and Conner and Noah, Silas, and Shay. In addition, there are several step-grandchildren and step, great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are sister, Theresa Geyer and brother, Robert Grundtner Sr.
