Donald Melvin Mosher

Long-time Naples physician, Donald Melvin Mosher, M.D. passed on September 14, 2018.

He is survived by his four children; Robert Dale Mosher (Barbara Schwartz), Suzanne Chickering (Leo Rod Chickering), James David Mosher (Zohreh Fahandesh), and Leilani McCoy, grandchildren Philip Gabriel Perry, Susannah Larie Burghardt (Chris Burghardt), Lillian Mosher Hamby (Andy Hamby), Bejean David Mosher (Shauna Kirk), Brooke, Daniel, and Dakota McCoy and great-grandchildren Gage and Ayden Burghardt, Evelyn Rose and Natalie Hamby, Owen Joel, Andrew James, and Dustin Mosher.

He was predeceased by sons Charles and Daniel.

He was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana to Melvin and Margaret (Rock) Mosher with four siblings. He joined the Army in 1943 and served to 1946. The Army sent him to University of Georgia at Athens, then a Pre-med program at University of Mississippi, and Medical School at University of Alabama at Birmingham. He rejoined the Army in 1953 -1955 as a Regimental Surgeon. He practiced medicine at what was then the Guided Missile Range Division at Cape Canaveral and Patrick AFB and became Assistant Medical Director.

He practiced medicine in Naples from 1964 until retiring in 1996.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 250 Sixth Street South, Naples, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity are appreciated.
