South Bend, IN-P. Michael “Mike” Fetters, 67, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021.  Mike was born on May 9, 1953, in South Bend, IN to Gerald G. and Virginia M. Fetters.  Surviving Mike is his mother, Virginia of Mishawaka; brothers, Dr. Lawrence J. (Ann) Fetters of Evans, GA, and Rev. Donald Fetters, C.S.C of Notre Dame, IN; sister, Jeanette M. Fetters; sister-in-law, Lindsay of Granger; nephew, Bradley (Jenna); niece, Tameria; great-nieces Abby, Charlotte and Alexus; and several cousins.  Preceding Mike in death is his father, Gerald; baby sister, Sharon; and brother, Roy (Lindsay).

Mike worked mostly self-employed in the area of electronic machinery but most recently was employed by Custom Plastics.

Mike was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral Parish.

Mike had a quiet and serious exterior but known for a dry sense of humor and a very generous spirit.  He dedicated many years of attention to the care of his mother.  He was knowledgeable and engaging in his conversations about many things, especially machinery, area history and local issues.  He was a frequent participant in area auctions and filled many spaces with what he collected from those events.

Mike’s family is very grateful for the kind care he received in these last months from Michiana Hematology-Oncology, Creekside Village and Heart to Heart Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend with Reverend Donald Fetters officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior at the church.  Mike will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.

Due to current public health and safety standards for COVID-19, social distancing will be enforced and masks required.
