Sherry Lynn (Lewis) Tatay
November 13, 1950 ~ July 17, 2022 (age 71)
Sherry Lynn Tatay, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Granger, Indiana on July 17, 2022 at the age of 71 due to natural causes. Sherry was born November 13, 1950 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Coleen (Badgero) Ricker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Michael Tatay Sr.
Surviving are her three sons; Michael Tatay Jr. of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Ryan Tatay and his wife Risha of Falls Church, Virginia, and Jeffrey Tatay and his wife Erica of Laramie, Wyoming. Sherry is also survived by her grandchildren Myah, Michael III, Ryan, and Fox Tatay. Also surviving are her sisters, Darlene Doering and Brenda Bradburn and stepfather Maynard Ricker.
Sherry graduated from Riley High School in 1969 where she met her husband, Michael. They married December 12, 1970, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Sherry was employed for many years at South Bend Hardware and eventually opened her own homeware business, The Elegant Touch in Mishawaka. She later retired from JCPenney Home Store in 2019. In her spare time, Sherry enjoyed spending time gardening and drawing. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola is assisting with the arrangements.
