SOUTH BEND - Marilyn McGrane, 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, at Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Marilyn was born on November 17, 1950, in South Bend, to Donald C. and Viola (Langel) McGrane. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, James.
She lived her life selflessly, always wanting to help others and putting their needs before her own. She was loved by many, and though she will be greatly missed her friends know she is at peace in Heaven.
Marilyn was a 1969 Riley High School graduate where she was Valedictorian. She was also a 1973 graduate of Purdue University where she majored in Elementary Education. Marilyn was a dedicated and devoted teacher; she loved her students and they loved her, they were her "children."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 9, at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at St. Matthew Catholic Cathedral, with Monsignor Michael Heintz officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.
