Edley Amos Robbins - Class Of 1969 VIEW PROFILE

Edley Amos Robbins

September 6, 1951 ~ January 4, 2023

Edley A. Robbins, 71, of Mishawaka, passed away in his home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Edley fought his health battle in usual Edley fashion, quietly and on his own terms. Edley was born in South Bend, IN, on September 6, 1951, to the late Ed and Jean (McGregor) Robbins. Edley graduated from Riley High School in 1969. Edley is survived by Carol (DeMeulenaere) Robbins, who he met in 1971; they were married on October 20, 1979, in St. Bavo Church. He is also survived by his son, Chad (Amanda) Robbins; three grandchildren, Alixandria (Kyle) Warner, Samantha Robbins, and Jessica Robbins; and sisters, Kathleen Ernsberger and Jeannie Vares.

Edley was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. In the 1980s and early 1990s, he was the owner and operator of Edley’s T-Shirt Graphics and in the 1990s and early 2000s, he managed City Limits Lounge. Prior to his retirement, Edley held a variety of part-time jobs, such as bartending at VFW Post 1167, providing security at local establishments, and delivering paper products throughout the Michiana area. Edley employed creativity and imagination in all of his endeavors, from his creations at Edley’s T-Shirt Graphics to creatively repurposing unusual materials found around his and Carol’s home. While never feeling the need to be the center of attention, Edley was always ready to have a good time, whether at the bar, on the golf course, or just at home with family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 pm-2 pm on Saturday, January 14th at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN.  A funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Bob Vale officiating and military honors performed by the American Legion Post 161 and VFW Post 360 Military Burial Team. Edley will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN.

Memorial contributions can be made in Edley’s memory to Pet Refuge, 4626 Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614 or St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
