Julie Bernedette Deka
Julie Bernedette Deka, 64, of South Bend, passed away at 4:49 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend. Julie was born July 8, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, to William P. and Mary Francis (Cahill) Boyce. On April 24, 1993 in South Bend, she married Greg A. Deka; he survives of South Bend.
Julie had worked at St. Patrick Catholic Church as an assistant cook.
Surviving is her husband, Greg A. Deka; son, Geoff Belforti; three sisters, Susan (Richard) Lobb, Joan (Raymond) Nowak, and Patrick (Phil Owen) Boyce. Also surviving are her three brothers, William P. Boyce Jr., Donald Boyce and Jeff (Jan) Boyce. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lynn Schurr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 309 South Taylor Street, South Bend, Indiana 46601 with Rev. David Kashangaki, CSC officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana 46614. A Rosary service will be recited at 8:00 PM. Burial will be at the Southlawn Cemetery.
