Thomas "Tom" Ginter April 17, 1954 - Oct. 12, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Thomas G. Ginter Sr., 61, of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly in his residence on Monday, October 12th. Tom was born in South Bend to the late George and Madelon (Burmiester) Ginter.

He was a graduate of Riley High School Class of '72.

Tom is a one of a kind; he was extremely hard-working (the hardest- working manager you would have ever known and he wouldn't have asked you to do anything he didn't do) and still the most caring, compassionate person anyone could have ever met; he worked for 44 years at the Martin's Supermarkets. On September 20, 1986, Tom married Anne Meehan in South Bend. Tom loved to spend time golfing with friends and family. Tom, 'a.k.a. the Grill Master,' also enjoyed cooking out, fixing as he called them "Chichin, Brats, and Cheez Burgers. He was an avid Purdue University fan along with the Washington Redskins. Tom was a four year wrestler at Riley and passed on the sport that he dearly loved to his sons, who themselves made Tom proud of their state and national accomplishments.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Anne, their three sons: Thomas G. Ginter Jr. of South Bend, Andrew (Andrea) Ginter of LaPorte, IN, and Daniel Ginter of South Bend; his adopted children: Beth Donathen, Devin Reagan, Tony Wycoff, Kody Marvel, Shaun Riffle and Donny Siders, along with sons, Matthew Ginter, Douglas Ginter, and Joel Ginter. Tom is also survived by his siblings, Cindy (Marv) Moore of South Bend, Judy (Tim) Decker of Bremen, and his twin brother and best friend, Ron (Kathi) Ginter of South Bend; his sisters and brother-in-law: Margaret (Randall) Lipps of Elkhart, Mary (Jeffrey) Lacy of Granger, and Daniel (Patricia) Meehan of South Bend. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ila Davis of South Bend, along with many nieces and nephews. Tom also leaves behind his "fur babies," Oscar and Sota.

Tom was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Mike Meehan.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 16th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, from 2 until 8:00 pm. Friends may also visit with the family on Saturday one hour prior to the service. A service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 17th in the funeral chapel. He will be laid to rest at the Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.
