William “Lee” Deadmond
William “Lee” Deadmond, was a quiet and simple man, who passed away on December 18th, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on November 15th, 1943, to the late Herbert and Dorothy Deadmond, but survived by sisters Marianne Shumaker (Ed Mullowney) and Janey (Terry) Billger. Lee went peacefully after a long battle with cancer. Special thanks to his caregiver Carolynne Deadmond.
Lee was a lifelong resident of South Bend, where he continued the family business as owner and operator of South Bend Automatic.
Lee is best described as firm but fair and is survived by his children Jennifer Richards of Ft Myers Florida, Steven Deadmond of Mishawaka Indiana, and Craig (Dorame) Deadmond of Lakeville Indiana. Lee also had seven grandchildren Sydni Atkinson, Nathaniel Richards, Michael McGowan, Dylan Deadmond, Hannah Deadmond, Jason Deadmond, and Ray Deadmond. Lee also leaves behind one great grandchild Bentley Minnes.
Lee always enjoyed the little things in life and was an avid walker in the area. He especially liked the river and local parks with his beloved dog Miracle. Though Lee may not have been the warmest person he will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
Keeping with Lee’s wishes there will be no local services and cremation has taken place. Palmer Funeral Home -Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
