Anthony (Tony) M. Herczeg 
August 15, 1936 - April 18, 2021 

South Bend - Anthony (Tony) M. Herczeg, 84, passed away unexpectedly in his home in the arms of his loving wife on Sunday, April 18, 2021. 

Anthony was born August 15, 1936 in South Bend to the late Stephen and Irene (Borsodi) Herczeg. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Rosemary McColley (Dale), Elizabeth Molnar (John); brothers, Steve, Joe (Dorothy), James Herczeg, Carl Alasko; and brother-in-law, John Molnar. 

Left to cherish the memory of Tony is the love of his life Nancy L. (Tharp) Herczeg; son, Jay and granddaughter, Jessica of Edwardsburg, Mi.; a daughter, Joy York (Michael), and grandchildren, Morgan and Haley all of St. Charles, Il. He is also survived by his twin brother, Lewis (Nancy) Herczeg; sisters-in-laws, Sheila (Steve) and Sheila (Jim) as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Tony graduated from Riley High school and attended IUSB. He married the love of his life Nancy L. (Tharp). He was employed as an accountant at Studebakers, Hawthorne Melody Dairies and Materials Handling Equipment Corporation. He was a former member of the South Bend Country Club and aced No. 15. Also, aced No. 8 at Indigo Run at Hilton Head, South Carolina with the York Family and Nancy while on vacation. He spent many vacations with family traveling and golfing. Tony enjoyed going to Notre Dame football games all his life. He loved spending time with Nancy, his kids and especially his grandchildren. Tony loved when Lucy (Joy’s dog) came and visited. He will be greatly missed by his family. 

Visitation for Tony will be 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 23, 2021 in the Funeral Home Chapel with visitation 10:30 to 11:00 am. prior to the service. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. 

In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Holy Family Catholic Church or to the Charity of your choice.
