John Donald "Don" Lang

May 27, 1943 ~ March 23, 2024 80 Years Old

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Donald "Don" Lang, who left us peacefully on the 23rd of March surrounded by family. Born on May 27th in 1943 in DeKalb, IL. Don completed a blessed journey of nearly 81 years.

Don was preceded into heaven by his parents, John and Katherine Lang, He was a cherished brother, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. His fiery spirit and love of socializing touched the lives of all who knew him. Anyone who knew Don knew of his love of his children, his grandchildren, sports, and Christmas. He never put away his Santa collection. He never missed an event for his children or grandchildren. He could always be counted on for a sleepover, a ride to school, a stop at McDonalds or even a trip to Busch Stadium.

Don is lovingly remembered by his brother, Steve Lang and his children Robyn, Bobby, and Brieann, Don’s children: Kristi and Dave Rulli and Mike and Dawn Lang; and his treasured grandchildren, Vito and Giana Rulli, Mason, Dessa, Seja, Eliana, and Kaden Lang. His memory will be held in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to experience his warm smile and generous nature.

A Celebration of Life to honor Don's life will be held from 5-7pm Friday, March 29, 2024 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.   The family invites you to join them in celebrating the life of a man who was the epitome of kindness and a true beacon of light in the lives of many. Donations may be made to the charity of choice, or a cause close to Don's heart. The Lang family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Rest in peace, dear Don.
