William M. Weber
April 22, 1941 ~ April 18, 2022 (age 80)
William Weber, 80, of South Bend went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 18th following a long battle with Parkinsons’ Disease. Bill was born on April 22, 1941, to the late William Otto and Lillian Ruth (Muller) Weber. He grew up in the Gilmer Park area, raised his family in southern Penn Township, and moved back to Gilmer Park to spend his final years next door to the house he lived in as a boy.
Bill served his country honorably in the United States Army Signal Corps from 1959-1962. He was the Past Master of the Three Oaks Masonic Lodge, a long-time volunteer firefighter with the Penn South Fire Department, and a member of the Lakeville Lions Club. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in South Bend for 70 years where he participated on mission trips to Haiti. Bill was a master tool and die maker and the owner of his own machine shop, Weber Quality Tooling. Bill loved convertibles, road trips, and spending time with his family playing euchre and dominoes.
Bill married the love of his life, Janet Anne (McCandlish), on July 11, 1964, in a double wedding ceremony with Janet’s twin sister, Jeanette. He is survived by his wife Janet; son, William Roy Weber; daughter, Anne Louise Weber; his sister-in-law, Jeanette Gingerich; nephew, Kirk Ambler; and niece, Kari Ambler.
The family would like to thank the staff at Signature Healthcare in Bremen for their kindness and care in the last few months. Bill, Dad, was much loved and will be missed greatly.
Visitation will 4-7 pm, Thursday, April 21st in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Friday, April 22nd in Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami Road, South Bend, IN with Pastor Joe Fant officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory can be made to Community Baptist Church or to any food bank.
