On July 16th, 2021, Millicent "Millie" Vasiliades passed away at 5:55 PM at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL with beloved family. 

Millicent was born in South Bend, IN on May 24, 1941 to Louis and Sophie (Skorich) Yazich. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Louis Yazich, Sr. 

Millicent is survived by her husband, Dimitri Vasiliades, two daughters, Diana (Chris) Chambers and Artemis (John Mullett) Vasiliades and her grandson, Nikolas Chambers. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. 

Millicent graduated from Indiana University. She was a skilled violinist and enjoyed playing violin in the South Bend and the Elkhart Symphony. Millicent never missed a chance to share her love of music with others and enjoyed teaching violin to children. Her favorite times were with her family in Greece, traveling with her husband, and times in Chicago and Denver with her daughters and grandson. Millicent had a magnetic, yet soulful and serene personality; she never met a stranger. She is remembered as a devoted and generous friend to many over the years. Millicent faithfully practiced her strong Orthodox faith and found comfort in attending liturgy and prayer. She enjoyed practicing and passing down the traditions of her Serbian heritage. 

Millicent endured illness in the last years of her life. She found comfort in her Orthodox faith and the support of family and friends. She spent her last years in West Palm Beach with her husband, Dimitri, where she enjoyed the year round sunshine. Millicent was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church where her grandparents were founding members.

Funeral services are being handled by Palmer Funeral Home and will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10 AM in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at 9 AM for viewing in the church. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.
