SOUTH BEND - Marjorie L. King, 85, of Clovis Street, South Bend, passed away at 3:30 am Friday surrounded by her family. She was born in Clay County, Indiana, on December 29th, 1927, to Grover and Myrtle Griffith, who preceded her in death.
On July 10th, 1948, in South Bend, she married Lyle King, who died August 31st, 1974. She is survived by her two daughters, Janet (Jim) Lorenc of South Bend and Terri (Trent) Wagner of Goshen, Indiana. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Christopher Q. Griffith, Lieren A. Lorenc and Lydia A. Lorenc. Two sisters, Martha Hubbell of Linton, Indiana, and Madeline Auer of Mishawaka, and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother, George Griffith of Florida, survives also.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia King, two sisters, Clara Teeter and Mary Bell, along with her brother, Estel Griffith.
Marjorie was employed by Dodge Manufacturing in Mishawaka as a Clerical Manager until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Eastern Star and also was a Riley High School South Bend graduate.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana; or to the Zion United Church of Christ, 715 E. Wayne Street, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services for Marjorie will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 22nd, at Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka. Friends will be received from 11:00 am until the time of the services at 1:00 pm Tuesday. Burial will follow the services at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Bubb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
