SOUTH BEND - Shirley A. Wallace, 83, of South Bend, IN passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in Southfield Village, South Bend. She was born on March 12, 1928 in South Bend, IN to William and Olive (Eby) Newman. On March 4, 1948 in South Bend, IN, she married Joe Max Wallace who preceded her in death on February 15, 1996.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her daughter, Linda (John) Wiegand of Lakeville, IN; son, Dr. Terry (Joyce) Wallace of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren, Joel Wiegand, Landon (Amanda) Wiegand, Lindahl Wiegand, Blake (Ammi) Wallace, Tara Wallace, Nathan Wallace and Seth Wallace and two great grandchildren, Kylie and Jaedon.
A sister and three brothers also preceded in death.
Mrs. Wallace was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Riley High School and a member of the Riley Lunch Bunch.
Mrs. Wallace retired from South Bend Control after many years of service. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Dr. Terry Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Shirley A.
