Robert F, Sweitzer, age 92, of Granville and formerly of Reynoldsburg, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born October 7, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana, a son of the late Walter A. and Elizabeth (McIntee) Sweitzer.

Robert retired as regional director of Insurance Services of Ohio (ISO) following 42 years of service.

He will be dearly missed and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karol K. Sweitzer; children, Mark R. (Connie), William R. (Kimberly), Matthew R. (Jen), and Karolyn A. (Paul) Hammond; his six grandchildren, Allison, Kayleigh, Luke, Drew, Shawn and Stacey; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Walter Sweitzer and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Sweitzer.

Veteran U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Franklin University in Lawrence, Indiana in 1945. Robert was a faithful man his whole life and was a member of St. Pius and Holy Spirit Catholic Church and most recently St. Edward Catholic Church in Granville.

An avid Chicago Cubs and University of Notre Dame fan, he along with his father were an usher at Notre Dame stadium. Most important in his life was his family. He coached his son's little league baseball and basketball teams and was always at his children's and grandchildren's events.

Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, March 13, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232 with Deacon John Barbour officiating. Inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Attendance levels will be monitored to stay in compliance with social distancing requirements and masks are required for family and guests. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Robert's memory.
