Mary A. (Phillipoff) McGuire

ELKHART - Mary Ann McGuire, 76, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully with her family present at Elkhart General Hospital, on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. She was born on August 14, 1937 in Gostivar, Yugoslavia. On December 31, 1966 she married John J. McGuire in Osceola. He survives at home. Other survivors include: two sons, Walter E. Luefling III of Elkhart and James (Dianne) McGuire of Morristown, NJ; one daughter, Pamela L. Lovely of Elkhart; and two grandchildren, Christina A. Lovely of South Bend and Brendan J. McGuire of Morristown, NJ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Phillipoff. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
After attending Nazareth Academy in Kalamazoo, she graduated from Riley High School in South Bend in 1956.
She was employed at CTS for several years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol, Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority, Red Hat Society, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 599, Elkhart Garden Club and Welcome Wagon.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol. Rev. Robert A. Van Kempen will officiate. Interment of her cremated remains will be held at the Veteran Towers at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or Saint Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Mary Ann's memory. Billings Funeral Home at 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
