SOUTH BEND - Steven R. Reygaert, 73, passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, December 24. Steve was born March 15, 1939, in Mishawaka, to Lucien and Mary (Varga) Reygaert. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter, Pam Reygaert Cox.
On May 13, 2006, he married Karen Cole. Surviving are his sons, Steven (Yolanda) Reygaert Jr. of South Bend and Scott (Jessica) Reygaert of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Kellen, Wade, Lynsie, Jacob, Devin, Darrian, Chris and Spencer; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Madison; former daughter-in-law, Kelly Reygaert; stepchildren, Jon and Dana Cole of South Bend; step-grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Cole, Justine (Scott) Cole, Joshua, Amber, Justin and Brenden Cole and Tyler Mays; and step-great-grandchildren, Jalyne, Dawson, Abigayl, Gabriella, Autumn, Olivia and Chloe.
Steve was a lifetime South Bend resident; he worked for the City of South Bend as Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor. He graduated from Riley High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was a member of the BK Club, West Side Church of Christ and the American Legion #303.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior in West Side Church of Christ, with Rev. Nathan Prong officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
