Deane Diane (Graber) Degler

Deane Diane Degler, 81, of South Bend, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2021. Deane was born on January 14, 1940, at her grandparent’s home in Indianapolis to Harrison and Jane (Parrish) Graber.Gr
Deane married Jerry Degler at Indiana Avenue Christian Church on December 3, 1960, in South Bend. He survives with their two daughters, Diane (Larry) Shoemaker of South Bend and Jane Gosser of Franklin, TN. Four grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Benjamin Shoemaker, Ally and Alexander Gosser.
She was a 1958 graduate of Riley High School. Deane also served several years as a member of the Lakeville’s Volunteer Emergency Medical Service.
Deane took great pride in being a homemaker and caring for her daughters. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death along with a brother, Samuel Graber and a sister, Sandy (Tom) Chappell.
Her family would like to thank the Center of Hospice Care and Miller’s Merry Manor of Wakarusa for their kindness.
Pursuant to Deane’s wishes, a private service was held with burial at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel of South Bend was entrusted with the arrangements.
