Joseph S. Waldron Feb. 16, 1966 - June 2, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Joseph S. Waldron, 48, of South Bend, passed away Monday, June 2nd, at 11 PM after an extended illness. He was born on February 16, 1966, in South Bend, to Hendrick K. and Kathleen A. (Kondor) Waldron.

He grew up in South Bend and graduated from Riley High School in 1984. He attended Kalamazoo College, Holy Cross Jr College and Ivy Tech. He lived in Indianapolis for about 10 years before returning to South Bend in 2011.

Joe is survived by his mother, Kathleen Waldron of South Bend; two sisters, Colleen F. (Mike) Bean of South Bend and Mary K. (Dave) Orr of Anthem, AZ; three brothers, Tom M. Waldron, John P. Waldron and Patrick C. Waldron, all of South Bend. He is also survived by 5 nieces, Nicole Waldron, Jaclyn (Jeff) Fox, Jennifer Orr, Taylor Bean and Courtney Bean; and two nephews, Steve Waldron and Sean Orr. He was preceded in death by his father, Hendrick Waldron.

Joe's hobbies included golfing, playing darts in a dart league, working out at the gym, watersports, and knee boarding. He also enjoyed long drives in his sports car, making people laugh, cooking, grilling, and was an avid Notre Dame football fan. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 7th, from 1:00 PM 3:00 PM at Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at 23421 State Road 23 / West Ireland Road, South Bend. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev,/Fr. Dave Rupert from St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church officiating. Joe's wishes were to be cremated and his family has honored those wishes. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. located at 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
