Michael H. "Mike" Roberts

June 6, 1937 - June 30, 2013

SOUTH BEND - Michael H. "Mike" Roberts, 76, of South Bend, passed away from natural causes at Sterling House on June 30, 2013. His parents, Harold and Vera (Pearce) Roberts of South Bend, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Greg Roberts (Denise) of South Bend and Gary Roberts (Cari) of Chicago, IL; grandson, Jaxon Roberts of Chicago, IL; brother, Steve Roberts of Birmingham, AL; two nephews, Keith Roberts of Birmingham, AL, and Bryce Roberts of Atlanta, GA; and ex-wife Kathy Roberts of South Bend.

Mike graduated from South Bend Riley High School. After high school, he attended and graduated from Albion College in Albion, MI, with a degree in Psychology, and also attended Ohio University in Athens, OH. Mike lived a good life and had great times with his family and friends. He was a prominent small business owner in Mishawaka, where he owned and operated Roberts Placement Service for many years until his retirement. Michael was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He loved Kiwanis and was an extremely active member in Mishawaka Kiwanis, where he served as President for two terms. He was very active in his early years playing golf and watching baseball, especially his beloved Chicago White Sox. Unfortunately, he lived his life with Bipolar disorder and, in his later years, the disease took its toll on his body and quality of life. He will be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Kenneth Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger. Friends may visit with the family Saturday, 10:00 a.m. till time of service at noon.
