Nathan R. Orr

MISHAWAKA - Nathan Ray Orr, 28, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2008, in Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oaklawn, IL, as the result of an accident at work. Nathan was born March 1, 1979, in South Bend, to Bart R. and Ann G. (Loutzenhiser) Orr, and has been a lifelong resident of this community.

He graduated in 1998 from James Whitcomb Riley High School.  He was employed as a conductor with Norfolk Southern Railroad.

On February 25, 2005, he was united in marriage to Amber S. Taylor, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Victoria Orr of Bremen and Emma Orr of Brook, IN; his parents, Bart R. and Ann G. Orr of South Bend; and his sister, Marcy (Sal) Parisi of South Bend. Also surviving are his maternal grandfather, Richard Loutzenhiser, and his companion, Josephine Manning, and his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Sally Orr, all of South Bend.

Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cecile Loutzenhiser in 1987.

A loving son sent from Heaven to make earth a happier place. Nathan enjoyed life and lived every moment fully. Nate's sense of humor was extraordinary with a crooked smile always on his face. Nate always found kindness in people and cared deeply about everyone he knew. But most importantly Nathan was an exceptional father and spent his short time here as a loving father.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, in Coalbush United Methodist Church, 15977 Jackson Road, Mishawaka. Rev. James Davidson will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Saturday in the church. Contributions in memory of Nathan Orr may be made to the Victoria and Emma Orr Education Fund, c/o LaSalle Bank, 1404 East Ireland Road, South Bend, IN 46614-9663.
