Betty J. (Krusinski) Hamilton
September 23, 1929 ~ June 23, 2023 (age 93)
Betty J. (Krusinski) Hamilton, 93, a lifelong resident of South Bend passed away on Friday June 23, 2023 at Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born on September 23, 1929 to the late Ignatius “Sam” and Naomi Ruth (Davis) Krusinski.
Betty met Clifford Hamilton, both graduates of James Whitcomb Riley High School, and the two were married on June 15, 1947, sharing 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
Together they had two children, Karla (Dean) Barnum of Mishawaka and Douglas Hamilton of South Bend. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Julie (Robert) Billingham, Nicole (Jonathan) Redeker, and Danielle (Daniel) Hodges along with great grandchildren, Logan, Hannah, and Mason. Two sisters also survive: Delores Huff of Leesburg and Sharon (Dave) Vandewalle of South Bend.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Robert Krusinski, and her great grandson, Zuri Billingham.
Betty enjoyed gardening, bird watching, especially hummingbirds, antique shopping, spending time with her 3 granddaughters and her great grandchildren, and traveling. She and her husband Cliff visited Russia, Hawaii, several Central and South American countries, and the Caribbean islands.
Betty spent her working career as office manager for the family plumbing, heating and air conditioning business. She was active in Southlawn United Methodist Church and served as treasurer for many years.
A funeral service for Betty will be held at 3pm on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. Visitation will be held from 1pm until the time of services. Interment will take place at a later date at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Betty’s name to the South Bend Center for the Homeless or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
