Robert P. Plank
Robert Plank Dec. 5, 1928 - May 13, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Robert P. Plank, 86, of South Bend, passed away at 3:49 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at his home. He was born on December 5, 1928, in South Bend to the late Charles M. & Hazel M. (Lear) Plank.
On December 10, 1949, in South Bend, he married Patricia J. Blain. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Patricia Plank of South Bend; 4 sons, Michael (Lynn) Plank of Elkhart, Gregory (Cynthia) Plank of South Bend, Kenneth Plank of Vandalia, MI, Douglas (Eppie) Plank of South Bend; 4 grandchildren: Leah, Layne, Christopher, Amber; 3 great-grand-children: Evan, Alya and Aniyah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles M. Plank Jr., and a daughter in-law, Peggy Plank.
Per Robert's wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Cremation has taken place.
Robert graduated from Riley High School. He worked as an engineer at Bendix. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing in Canada, driving his car, riding his bike, was an avid NASCAR fan, and had been attending the Indy 500 for the last 25 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 45, a 65-year member.
