Richard (Dick) David Turk

March 22,1929     ~     June 2, 2021

Richard (Dick) Turk was born and raised in South Bend, IN to his late parents Carleton and Gladys Turk (Andrews).  He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Turk (Charlette) 2010, daughter Charlette Turk 2020 and siblings Robert (Ellie) Turk, Barbara (Skip) Gassensmith and infant sister Shirley.  Dick is survived by daughters Stacey (Larry) Zurat and Sally Turk; grandchildren Jessica Chomicki (Colt), John McGovern (Makayla), Collin McGovern (Heather), Troy McGovern, Mark Zurat (Emily Devolder); great-grandchildren Riley, Maddie and Gabi McGovern.

Dick graduated from Riley High School and Florida State University where he was a proud member of their first undefeated football team.  He was also a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.  Dick enjoyed sailing E-scows, boating, fishing, golf, football, fixing just about anything and all things Torch Lake, MI.  Dick was also a pilot, served during the Korean conflict, Rotary member, Morris Park Country Club member, and Torch Lake Yacht Club member.  Dick was the president of Taylor & Moyer Agency, Inc. until he and Patsy’s retirement to their favorite place - Torch Lake, MI.

Cremation has taken place per Dick’s wishes and there will be no service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Pl., Mishawaka, IN, 46545.  Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Family and friends may leave email condolences at  www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
