E. Ray Brant 

E.Ray Brant Jan. 21, 1923 - Nov. 26, 2014 SOUTH BEND - E. Ray Brant, 91, of South Bend, IN, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on January 21, 1923 in Warsaw, IN to the late Claude and Rosella (Holbrook) Brant. On November 27, 1947 in Mishawaka, IN, he was united in marriage to the former Betty L. (Rudduck) Brant who preceded him in death on October 19, 2002.

Mr. Brant is survived by two daughters, Janet S. Brant and Jean (E. Nick) Nickelson, both of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Lt. Col. Jeffrey T. (Regina) Kronewitter of Washington, D.C. and Julie L. (Brian) Blanchard of Omaha, NE. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Neva M. (the late Joe) Zigler.

Mr. Brant was a 1941 graduate of Riley High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was the owner and operator of Brant's Grocery Store on Ewing Avenue and Brant's Ben Franklin on Miami Street in South Bend. Mr. Brant was the past president and founding member of the Michiami Kiwanis, a former member of Broadway Christian Parish, a United Methodist Church and Ridgedale Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, 115 S. Frances Street, South Bend, IN 46617. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, IN is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions in memory of E.
