August 5, 1922 ~ October 10, 2019 (age 97)

Alma Lee Bolen, 97, formerly of Osceola, IN, residing in Sherrills Ford, NC. died October 10, 2019 at Brian Center of natural causes.  Alma Lee was born to August and Emma Much in South Bend, IN.

Alma Lee graduated from Riley High School in 1941.  She became engaged to Roy E. Bolen just before he was called to serve in the US Army.  Upon his return from duty, they were married on October 21, 1945 and moved to Southern Indiana while Roy received his degree from Hanover College.  Alma Lee worked as a secretary to the President of Meese Inc. during this time.

Alma Lee retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after thirty-one years.  She was an executive secretary in the Sales Department.  She participated in the Uniroyal Ladies Club, Golf League, Bowling Team, and other Uniroyal functions.  After retiring she received training in Dallas, TX. to become a color analysis consultant which she did for ten years.  She assisted her good friend Jan Shearer at the Farmers Market in South Bend for eight years.  She continued her love to paint and her passion for art.

Alma Lee was a wonderful, loving, caring, Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandma and Friend.  She enjoyed her bridge club of sixty years, camping with the Osceola group, and volunteering whenever needed.  She was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ and cherished the love and support of her church family.  She treasured the many students Roy taught that became her extended family.

Alma Lee is survived by her loving son, Craig (Vicki) Bolen of Pinellas Park, FL. and her loving daughter Linda (Randy) Harris of Sherrillls Ford, NC., two grandchildren, Craig Bolen, Jr. and Cheree Bible., ten great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by three nieces, Barb (Larry) Taylor in Cedar Rapids, IA, Carol, (Mike) Dugan in Naperville, IL, and Karen Sue (Jim) Witmer in Plymouth, MI. 

Alma Lee was preceded in death by her husband Roy of fifty-nine years, her mother and father August (Emma) Much, and brothers Al (Marion) Much, Otto (Mary & Murl) Much, and Ervin (Theo) Much.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Zion United Church of Christ, 211 S. St. Peter Street, South Bend, IN 46617.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Zion United Church of Christ, South Bend, IN.  Palmer Funeral Home - River Park is handling the arrangements for the family.
