Wilma L. (Props) Stoll

July 19, 1918 - March 5, 2016

Wilma L. (Props) Stoll, 97, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. A longtime resident in the South Bend area, Wilma was born July 19, 1918, in Sweetser, Indiana, to the late Alma (Brewer) and G.M. Props, and moved to South Bend with her family as a child, where her dad opened Props Grocery, known for its top quality fresh food and friendly service. After graduating from Riley High School in 1936, she worked for E.M. Morris at Associates, and then married Robert W. Stoll (deceased) in June 1942.

She is survived by four children, Beverly J. Ness of Grapevine, Texas, R. William Stoll (Donna) of Vandalia, Michigan, James R. Stoll of South Bend, and Nancy L. Stoll of Westminster, California. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. One son, Charles F. Stoll, and her sister, Oretta Jeanne Props, predeceased her.

Wilma remained active in the Riley High School “After 50th Alumni Committee” for many years, and was a regular participant with the “Riley Lunch Bunch.” As a nonagenarian, she continued to play duplicate bridge in local clubs and never lost her love of Scrabble or crosswords. As corporate secretary, she worked at the family printing business, Multi-Graphic Printing Corporation, continuously since 1946.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to the charity of your choice .
