Gertrude D. (Vogel) Woodard

Gertrude D. Woodard, 70, of 1737 Brookmede Drive, died at 3:35 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Woodard was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Alexandria, Ind., and had lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Jan. 13, 1940, in South Bend, as Gertrude D. Vogel, she married Harry E. Woodard, lie died Sept. 21, 1980. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce T. Pairitz of Michigan City, Linda Prange of Miami and Peggy Bittle of Granger; a son, Edward A. of Lodi, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Agnes Tiedge and Helen Tschida, both of South Bend, Doris Misch of Cassopolis and Patricia Biesbrouck of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and two brothers, Charles Vogel and Gerald Vogel, both of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Mrs. Woodard was a member of the church
