Mike Medich

SOUTH BEND - Mike Medich of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in his home surrounded by family. Mike was the loving husband of many years to the late Lillian (Pasalich) Medich and beloved father of the late Mary Jo (Medich) Kaser.

Mike is survived by his daughter Julie and her husband Michael Narancich of Clearwater, Florida. He is the proud grandfather of Charles and Dawn Kaser, Aaron Kaser and Leslie Ann Bloss, Bianca and Jason Koski, Briana (Seja) and Mileva (Kosa) Vuckovich; and great-grandfather of Max and Mila Kaser and Brayden and Brielle Koski. He also leaves many relatives and friends.

Mike was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana and moved to Florida with Lillian in 1990. He graduated from Riley High School and attended Butler University and was a member of the United States Navy.

Mike spoke often about his time in the Navy; however, he loved his church in South Bend; Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, and in St. Petersburg, St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church. Mike and Lillian both sang in the church choir in South Bend and St. Petersburg. He was a man who loved God, his family, friends and his country.

Visitation will be held at the Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church Sat., July 13, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, with funeral services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church or Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
